some rocks in the water and snow covered mountains
Kilpisjärvi is a medium-sized lake located at the north-western tip of Finland and it is surrounded by numerous fells, most notably Saana. While arriving to Kilpisjärvi Lake we drove both sides of the border - between Finland and Sweden. In Finland we need to watch out for passing reindeers on the road. #kilpisjärvi #lappland #finland
an old building with many windows on the front
We stayed in the Hotel Seurahuone. The building designed by the architect office Kiseleff & Heikel in 1890 is one of the oldest hotel-restaurants in Finland. Unfortunately a fasade looks much better than rooms and other inner space. #hamina #finland
a yellow building with red trim on the windows and white trim around the window sill
You can find very beatiful houses from the old Hamina. The star-shaped bastion fortress encloses the old circular town centre, with the eight radial streets starting from the Town Hall Square. The radial streets have two circular cross streets, Isoympyräkatu and Pikkuympyräkatu. Pikkuympyräkatu is a full circle about 900 metres long. #hamina #finland

Saana is a fell in Enontekiö. Saana's summit lies 1.029 metres above the sea level and 556 m above the Kilpisjärvi lake. Geologically it is a part of the Scandinavian Mountains. Unfortunately, we did not climb Saana Fell at this time. But it looks great. #saana #kilpisjärvi #finland

The Löyly is a great place to feel the Finnish sauna. The sauna building is gorgeous and saunas are great. From the Panorama Sauna opens view to the Gulf of Finland and the Smoke Sauna is a real experience.
an image of a shrine in the middle of a church
Look how sympathetic the pulpit is in the Old Church of Petäjävesi. It was built of logs between 1763 and 1765. This Lutheran country church is a typical example of an architectural tradition that is unique to eastern Scandinavia. It combines the Renaissance conception of a centrally planned church with older forms deriving from Gothic groin vaults. It was inscribed in 1994 on the UNESCO World Heritage List. #petäjävesi #finland
a wooden bridge over a body of water surrounded by trees and grass on a sunny day
This beautiful 53-metre bridge to Taavetinsaari is located in Joenniemi. Bridge travels from Oulu to its present location to Mänttä by truck in this spring. #mänttä #gösta

We stayed one night in an old pharmacy in the middle of Vääksy village. In a back yard is a great sauna that can be recommended to all. #vääksy #finland
two people are swimming in the water on a sunny day at a lake with trees
What a nice place to swim after a hot day. We need to wade a long sandy beach to get swim. Vääksy is located on an isthmus between Päijänne and Vesijärvi, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Lahti. #vääksy #finland
a snow covered hill with trees on it
Levi is a fell located in Finnish Lapland, and the largest ski resort in Finland. The peak of the Levi fell is at an elevation of 531 metres (1,742 ft) above a sea level. There are 43 ski slopes (17 of which are floodlit) and 27 ski lifts in Levi. On the first evening we need to admire the scenery at the top. Time was 20:30, the sun was shining, but no skiiers. #levi #finland

Hamina is one of the most important harbours of Finland. The port specialises in forest products and transit cargo to Russia. We found this lovely boat of flowers from a harbour called Rampsi. #hamina #finland

What, our hometown Hämeenlinna in Hamina. The gunpowder magazine from 1785 located in the Hämeenlinna Bastion has been renovated to serve as an art gallery and meeting facility. It was used as a communications centre during the Second World War. Look at the cherry trees in the yard. #hamina #finland
