Haenel (MP41). Developed at Haenel by Hugo Schmeisser, using the MP40 receiver, barrel and magazine, mated with Schmeisser's MP28II stock and firing mechanism. Only 27,000 made. Not used by the German military. Some were sold to the German police forces, and many ended up in the Balkans with pro-German paramilitary units.(Slovenia; Croatia; Romania). A little known fact is that Haenel and Schmeisser were sued for patent infringement by ERMA. They lost in 1944, and had to pay compensation.
