Madeira Island is full of beautiful coastal viewpoints, cliffs and beaches. And if you like sceneries like this, visiting Ponta de São Lourenço is a must! But don’t just stop at the parking lot! Put on your hiking boots to explore the PR 8 Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço hike. It is a relatively short and moderate hike on the most eastern point of Madeira. It was certainly one of our favourite trails! Especially during sunrise and sunset, this hike is incredible! There are two routes to the top of the Pico Ruivo: the epic PR 1 from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo and the PR 1.2 Vereda do Pico Ruivo.
