Getting rid of fire ants-Simply pour 2 cups of Club Soda directly in the center of a fire ant mound. The carbon dioxide in the water is heavier than air and displaces oxygen which suffocates the queen and the other ants. The whole colony will be dead within about 2 days. Each mound must be treated individually and a 1 liter bottle of club soda will kill 2 to 3 mounds.

When the container is full, crush the shells into small bits and sprinkle them around the base of your plants. The sharp eggshells will deter slugs, snails, and other bugs from nibbling on your garden and add a touch of calcium to the soil. - Compost Rules.
