Emotion flash cards Children with autism often have difficulty in expressing and understanding the feelings and facial emotions of others. Show the child them self in a mirror with an emotion card beside their image. Encourage them to imitate the emotion card. This way they can see what the emotion looks like on their own face. Also the child can learn to generalize that the emotion on the card represents their own emotion and what it looks like.
