Textiles I FDB Møbler

Here you can see a selection of our textiles, created by iconic Danish designers since 1942. All our textiles are made with passion for aesthetic and functionality and inspired by the Scandinavian design tradition. We care about the environment – not only by creating long-lasting design objects, but also by thinking about the environment when finding the right materials for our designs. We use only OEKO-Tex certificated textiles for our designs.

R36 Søndergade pillow
Textile designer Lykke Bloch Kjær has given the classic ‘horse blanket’ textile new life with beautiful new colours, and the Søndergade cushions are available with two different signature stripes: purple or pink. The Søndergade textile is woven in 100 % wool, at the Danish weaving mill, Kjellerup Væveri, that strives to make every product as long-lasting as possible – both in terms of function, quality, and aesthetics.

Hvide Sande pillow
vide Sande is a pillow of fantastic quality. Made in Ireland from 100% wool and handwoven in the traditional way. The pillow is designed with inspiration from the wild Danish west coast, where the waves crash and the wind tugs at the marram grass. Along the beach, sand and seaweed intertwine, and colors, textures, and surfaces blend together.

Colorline table cloth from FDB Møbler
Colorline was created in 1996 and is now relaunched by FDB Møbler. The series consists of tablecloths, napkins, placemats and tea towels, all of which excel in quality and stylish simplicity. Colorline comes in shades of red and blue, which reflect the change of seasons in the Nordics, and which stand beautifully for a classic table setting with white porcelain. Tulipan bedding from FDB Møbler
What would a truly Danish set of bedding look like; one that was in line with Danish design traditions? That was the question posed to Kasper Salto by FDB Møbler. As the grandson of the famous Axel Salto, Kasper answered with a tulip pattern that his grandfather had created two generations before. Now that simple, decorative design is woven into bedding made of 100 % organic cotton and bearing the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

Kirkby towels from FDB Møbler
The Kirkeby towels are also a story about Danish design, the designer's own background and FDB Møbler's philosophy about responsibility. The graphic pattern is inspired by the wicker structure in Jørgen Bækmark's iconic dining table chairs, and the name is a loving thought for designer Gitte Lægård's birthplace, Mejrup Kirkeby. They are also woven from 100% organic cotton and on all sides and edges found worthy of the most recognized environmental certification, the Nordic Ecolabel.
