Maj socks pattern by Sari Nordlund
Maj is the Swedish word for May. These socks were originally featured in the May issue of the Finnish crafts magazine, Suuri Käsityö. I was asked to design socks that were inspired by spring and the month of May, so I started to think about blossoming apple and cherry trees. The traveling and crossing twisted stitches that turn into small bobbles represent the twisting gnarly branches of old apple trees and apple blossom petals falling in the spring breeze.
Luna socks pattern by Josephine & the seeds
Worked partly in stockinette stitch and partly in a simple stranded colorwork pattern, these socks were created to add a pop of bright color to your outfit. The socks are worked from the cuff-down, with a standard heel flap (which can be easily replaced by your preferred method) and a bit of kitchener stitch to close the toes. This pattern is needle-neutral (to work with either DPNs or circular needles).
