Happy Tuesday!!! (Glædelig Tirsdag!!!) After looking at representations of the Norse deities on the show Vikings, I thought it might be interesting to look at some authentic ancient depictions. Norse Tyr statue. Replica of a bronze statue, circa 200 BCE, from Zealand, Denmark. Which is pre-Viking. Did they even have "Tyr" then or a deity with similar attributes or a similar legend? On the other hand, there is speculation that Tyr was the orginal ruler of the Norse gods. Odin came later.
