Du scanner konstant omgivelserne, selv når der ikke er nogen reel fare. Det er en overlevelsesstrategi, som ofte stammer fra barndommen – især hvis du voksede op et sted, hvor følelser var uforudsigelige, eller hvor dine behov ikke blev mødt. Når tryghed og kærlighed føltes betinget, lærte du at tilpasse dig: At mærke andres stemninger, undgå konflikter og gøre alt for at skabe ro. Men du skal vide det her: Du er ikke “for følsom”. Du overtænker ikke. Dit nervesystem gør bare det, det lærte at gøre for at beskytte dig. Heling handler ikke om at bebrejde dig selv – men om at opdage, at du ikke længere behøver leve i overlevelse. Du må gerne føle dig tryg nu. Du må gerne slippe ansvaret for andres følelser. Det har aldrig været dit ansvar at fikse dem. Kender du følelsen? Du er ikke alene.
