The negative effects of medication that parents most frequently reported experiencing were decreased appetite, sleep issues, weight loss, irritability, and an upset stomach. With the exception of irritability, which was more likely to be reported as a side effect by parents whose children used medicine methylphenidates were equally likely to cause these negative effects. Increased mood or excessive energy wasn't among the negative effects of ADHD drugs that were more frequently reported.
