Hammocks are a wonderful way to relax but if you don't have two sturdy trees in your backyard, it may be difficult to hang a hammock. Here's all you need to know on how to install a hammock post.

DIY hammock posts. Dig 2 holes 3 ft deep and 14 feet apart* (we rented an auger with a 10 in. bit) Purchase 2 8x6 pressure treated wood posts. We cut a foot off one end and beveled the edges for a cleaner look. Put the post in the holes and pour quick drying concrete around the posts. (three 50lbs bags mixed with water is good for each post) Let dry completely (2 days) Drill holes six inches from the top of the posts for 8.5 inch eye bolts. Attach hammocks. RELAX! *depends on hammock length.

This is one of those projects that I've had in my head forever. It was just a matter of getting motivated enough to dive in. In all honesty, this project was neither costly nor time consuming.
