I’ve been making these foam core mini bolts for well over 10 years now!

I use foam board. This is what I prefer, and I feel like it works the best! It’s sturdy, lasts forever and you can stick your pins into it to secure your fabric. 

Cut down to 7.5 x 10, this will give you 8 boards per every 20 x 30 sheet. I buy mine from @hobbylobby but you can find it at many different stores! 

Fold your fabric in 3rds so it’s about the same height as the board and wrap it around! Secure the end with a pin! 📍

Storing your fabric this way helps to see what you have and keep it organized!
