So I will be the first to admit- it can be hard to keep things clean with kids. Our kids are young: 7, 5, 3 and 1. Keeping the house spotless is not possible. Keeping the house clean is possible. Today I am sharing my daily cleaning list for you and for your kids.

Tacks, tickets and board from dollar store. Used #10 envelopes and cut the ends off to make pockets. Each pocket is a chore and worth a certain amount of money. Every time she completes a chore she puts a ticket in the envelope and at the end of the week we count up the tickets and give her money. She can choose to spend the money or put it in her savings jar. Whatever is in her savings jar earns extra money each week.

Like many parents out there, we have an ongoing chore getting our girls to behave. We've tried a few methods of reward and behaviour management over the years. For a while we had success with Nigel Latta's Ladder of Certain Doom from his book "Before Your Kids Drive You Crazy, Read This." There's also an iPhone app. I'm not going to explain it in lengthy detail, but essentially bad behaviour resulted in the bedtime being moved. Bedtime could be earned back by doing a "good behaviour chore"…

I love this as a chore chart incentive - perhaps there should be must do chores that are free! Once these are done they can do extras off the list for pocket money? Or, now that I think about it - paying for all of the chores is not that bad an idea.
