Handkerchief Dolls. When I first came across these they were called "Church Dolls", because people used to make temporary dolls out of hankies in church to quietly entertain children and keep them calm. You can also use cloth napkins, and they come out especially nice if made from hankies/napkins with an embroidered or monogrammed corner or lace edging as the hem of the doll dress.
