Once you stroll around the city of Reykjavík, Iceland, you will come across a lot of gems, cute places, and charming sights of you vacation. Like for example this yellow lighthouse at the old harbor in Reykjavík. It is located near the great building Harpa. The lighthouse is built in 1919, and it is one of two Stauman lighthouses. One of the absolute must see's in Reykjavík, Iceland, is Yoko Ono's outdoor art work "Imagine Peace Tower", that is a memorial of her late husband John Lennon. It is located at the small island Videy, and it is lit like a torch, lighting way up in the sky, between his birthday (October 9) and the day he passed (December 8). The classic Icelandic sweater lopapeysa is a must try (and must buy) on you vacation in Iceland. In Reykjavík you will find a lot of nice designs made by locals, and you can buy different versions ranging from the handmade of an Icelandic grandmother to a professional knitted version for children and adults. The Icelandic sweater is warm, usually made from Icelandic wool, and it will keep you warm in our rapidly changing wind and weather.

Skólavörðustígur, Reykjavík, is one of the main shopping streets in the capital. Here you will find less souvenir shops and more local design stores and good restaurants. Make sure to visit the shops Geysir, where you will find local design in smooth leather and warm wool. At the top of the street, you will find Hallgrímskirkja, which you should visit on your vacation to see great Icelandic architecture and the big picture of the city from its tower.
