Then, go through every item and ask yourself a few questions. 1) Do I love this? 2) Does it fit me well (right now)? (That bit is important!) 3) Do you have good, happy, positive memories of wearing this? (We don’t want to keep anything that remind you of a negative emotional state, or a past version of you that you’re ready to evolve from, or things that no longer fit your ideal lifestyle) 4) If I were shopping, would I be excited to buy this item right now?
If the answer to all 4 items above is “yes!”, put it in the keep pile! If not, add to the donate or consign pile. Put everything back in a way that makes sense for you - and if you need help figuring that out, PLEASE ask! I’m happy to answer questions on IG. And let’s be real, sometimes it’s really hard to start a decluttering project. If you want help, and if you want this to be done in record time, reach out to me! Hang your clothes on velvet hangers ✨ These hangers are thinner so you’ll be able to hang more. 2. Maximize the space on top by using bins with lids and stacking them ✨You can store winter clothes, accessories, travel items, hats, purses, and so on in these bins. 3. Add a dresser to the bedroom for added storage ✨A dresser is a great storage solution when you don’t have drawers in the closet. 4. Use door storage such as a shoe pouch or Elfa system ✨When space is limited, you have to get creative and use what you can. 5. Add a shoe rack if there isn’t one ✨ I don’t like to store things on a floor in a closet, but with small closets it’s a great way to get an organized system. There are shoe racks that you can add under the shorter hanging items. 6. Utilize under the bed storage ✨ You can use bins or space saver bags to store items that you don’t use often. 7. Declutter & keep what you use and love ✨When space is limited, it’s even more important to declutter. 8. Follow the one in & one out rule to avoid overcrowding the closet ✨in order to maintain an organized closet, you have to be mindful of your shopping habits and monitor what goes in and out.
