This is my family's Homemade Chicken Broth recipe that we have been making for decades. It is incredibly easy to make, flavourful, nutritious and healing. It is the perfect recipe to make if you are feeling under the weather, or freezer prepping for the fall and winter months. If you are looking for an easy and delicious chicken broth recipe that is tried and true, look no further, this is it.
Making your own homemade chicken broth is TOTALLY WORTH IT! The depth of flavor is so much better than store bought and you can use your broth in so many ways! You'll need: 1 whole chicken • 1 celery stalk - cut up into 3 pieces • 1 large carrot - cut up into 3 pieces - I don't peel the skin but you can if you want • 1 onion - cut into quarters - I don't peel the skin but you can if you want • 1 bay leaf 1/2 ts black peppercorns Remove the gizzards from the inside of the chicken. Place in a large stock pot, along with the other ingredients. Add water until you just cover the chicken. Bring to the boil on high. Remove and skim off any scum as it appears. Once the scum is gone and you are at a nice boil, lower the heat to a simmer, cover, and simmer for 3-4 hrs. Once finished, r

2hr · 8 servings INGREDIENTS 4 stalks chopped celery • 1 cup chopped carrots • 1 medium chopped yellow onion • 4 cloves minced garlic • 1 lb chicken breast • 1 tsp salt • 3/4 tsp black pepper • 2 tsp dried oregano • 2 bay leaves • 6 cups chicken broth • 1 cup whole milk • 1/2 cup heavy cream • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour • 6 Tbsp butter • 6 oz long grain & wild rice with seasoning packet Dump all the ingredients except for butter, flour, milk, and heavy cream.Cover, and cook on high for 2 hours. Remove chicken, shred, and place it back in the slow cooker. In a pan, melt the butter. Add the flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to form a roux. • Add the roux, milk and heavy cream. Stir to combine. Continue to cook on high for an additional 30 min.
