Interestingly, horse pendants very similar to this one have been found in Viking Age (Late Iron Age) sites in Latvia from both the Liv and Latgallian peoples. Unrelated and with different clothing and ornament traditions, but living in close proximity to one another, both peoples chose this same amulet design to wear. 29 x 32mm (1⅛ x 1¼”). All links on the pendant itself (not the chain) are soldered closed.
