Julian P. Hume - Talpanas lippa is an extinct genus of duck consisting of a single species. It was endemic to the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian archipelago. The association of bones is about 6,000 years before present. These physical characteristics show that the eyes and optic nerve of this duck were very small in size, and therefore it can be assumed this species was probably both blind and flightless.
