Turner Lake, located about 16 miles east of Juneau, is not only a recognized trophy trout lake, but also home to two public use cabins managed by the U.S. Forest Service. West Turner Lake Cabin is accessible by boat or plane, while East Turner Lake Cabin is only accessible by plane. Don't let the remote location of these cabins fool you — they are both steeped in history and surrounded by all the best Southeast Alaska has to offer. Photos by Abby Lowell | Juneau Empire
