Inspired particularly by the illuminated manuscript the "Book of Kells" (the actual thing, not the animated movie that details a fictionalized version of its creation. Though the movie is amazingly awesome...). My cat is nowhere near as amazing as the stuff in the book. Adobe Illustrator. The cat is drawn shapes with the paintbrush. The background is a photograph of leather that was live traced and turned into vector shapes then had the opacity messed with.
