Newborn Babies
According to studies, because they spent nine months within their mother, newborn babies are more used to and even capable of recognizing their mother's voice before they are even born. Higher pitched voices are preferred over lower ones. This may also be seen in a child's reaction when we speak to them in a squeaky voice.
