Project - 18th c. Green Velvet Suit

Planning board for 18th century man's suit made of celery green cotton velvet. It's intended for day wear, not a court suit, so trying to keep the decoration simple. Perhaps some silver thread embroidery and spangles, nothing elaborate. Not going to add color to this one, just the green and silver. I'm planning that the majority of the suit will be sewn by hand. It will be worn with the silk satin waistcoat I embroidered to go with the blue silk court suit. It may be worn with a plain shirt instead of the lace-trimmed one. Target completion date: Costume College 2012.

A very formal dress suit, including sword. So presumably for court, 1812 costume parisien
Habit á la Francaise about 1785 Pastel is the quintessential Rococo color. Light and airy, it is a reaction against the heavy, cramped baroque.
