Kurt Ard
Kurt Ard (born 1925) is a Danish illustrator, painter and graphic artist. Famed for a large number of cover illustrations in various weekly magazines in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Kurt Ard worked in the same realistic painting tradition as his obvious role model, the accomplished American illustrator and portraitist of folk life Norman Rockwell (1894-1978).

Jean-Jacques Sempé, or just Sempé was born in 1932 and still lives in Bordeaux. He is a French cartoonist, widely known for the series of children's books he created with René Goscinny, Le petit Nicolas. His work has appeared as the cover of The New Yorker magazine many times as well as many other magazines.
